18AM series thermal protector is a thermally snap-action and automatic reset device, used as a thermal protector or thermal switch, intended to be mounted within fractional horsepower motor under 0.5HP, transforermes, ballasts, and heating appliances under 1KW. The bimetal disc elements carry circuit current of the application, so the device is subject to the self-heating effect caused by the electrical lead passing through the bimetal elements. So it is current and temperature double protector. When the temperature raches the pre-calibrated open temperature, it cutoff and then the circuit system cools until down to the pre-calibrated reset temperature, the two contacts will close and the circuit will also resume to work.
